Casino City's iGamingDirectory.com was developed by Casino City Press to be the world’s most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to the online gaming industry.
Fifteen years ago, Casino City Press published the inaugural edition of its annual Casino City’s iGaming Business Directory, a bona fide “who’s who” of all things iGaming. In 2017, we implemented this online version of the directory that is substantially more detailed and continuously updated.
The ever-expanding iGamingDirectory.com database includes thousands of businesses that own online gaming sites, along with listings for the online gaming sites, affiliate programs and affiliate networks, web portals and their owners, game and platform suppliers, games, regulatory jurisdictions, annual reports of online gaming businesses, payment methods and gaming executives with their associated LinkedIn profiles.
How did we go about accumulating such a massive collection of data, and how do we keep it complete and up-to-date? Glad you asked.
Every month for 15 years, we have used services like Alexa, Hitwise and SimilarWeb to find new sites that those services consider similar to the sites already in our database. Our dedicated research team manually examines and classifies these new sites, effectively leveraging the millions of users comprising the panels used by those services as their eyes and ears.
While reviewing newly suggested similar sites yields the majority of new additions to the iGamingDirectory.com database, a variety of other approaches are employed as well. For example, our research team also scours the web for industry news and announcements and monitors the information published on regulatory agency, software provider, operator and affiliate program sites.
A comprehensive database is essential, but even more critical is the ability to filter and rank the information in the database. iGamingDirectory.com allows you to create customized rankings based on geographic area, mobile or desktop traffic, and time frame. You can determine how the dynamics of marketplaces you care about are evolving by examining the changes in rankings over time within those marketplaces. Knowing which operators, sites and affiliate programs are becoming more important and which are becoming less relevant to your audience will help you make intelligent decisions in evolving your business relationships.
Rankings are updated monthly and represent our best estimate of relative importance globally and by geographic region (e.g., Asia, Europe, Latin America). For individual iGaming and portal sites, importance is estimated as the weighted power mean of a variety of independent and multisourced traffic-based statistics, such as number of visitors, visits and page views and total estimated time spent on a site by all visitors. For owners, operators, game developers, affiliate programs and other entities that can be associated with multiple sites, importance is based on the combined importance of the related sites.
Hundreds of ranked lists are available, and every ranked list includes links that allow you to drill down and view in-depth information. For example, the top iGaming site owners and operators list has a link to a detail page for each site owner or operator that includes a company overview, location and contact information, names of key executives with direct links to their LinkedIn profiles, current and prior annual reports, and a ranked list of sites owned.
A wealth of information obtained from third-party data providers is also available within iGamingDirectory.com. iGaming portal site detail pages show an estimated number of monthly visitors over a six-month period provided by SimilarWeb, in addition to the top countries providing traffic to the site according to both SimilarWeb and Alexa. A wide variety of statistics are also included, such as Moz Domain Authority and several kinds of link metrics. The list goes on to include similar sites, traffic sources, top organic keywords and more.
